Minister Počivalšek visited the the Hoče-Slivnica Municipality with Prime Minister Miro Cerar, as they wished to inform the mayor and the local community that the giant Magna International global automotive supplier will move a part of its production to this municipality. The Prime Minister shared with everyone attending the meeting that he was informed of this excellent news by the head of Magna’s European operations, Günther Apfalter.
Prime Minister Cerar issued a press release stating that “the Government is working hard daily to create good conditions for foreign investors in Slovenia. Political stability is essential in this matter, as it is a prerequisite for every new foreign investment. The Government’s efforts paid off, as Magna Steyr can also be expected to come to Slovenia, following Yaskawa.”
Moreover, the Government made great efforts to attract this foreign investment, as it estimated that this is a significant strategic investment for this area of Slovenia. The Government provided the funds and the legislative basis. Furthermore, Prime Minister Cerar stressed that “every new investment means new life, new jobs, and additional impetus for Slovenia. Such new investments are particularly essential in areas with high unemployment rates.
