The ECC is established in each EU Member State, plus in Norwegian and Iceland. The aim of the network is to provide advice and assistance to consumers in the enforcement of their rights and in finding the proper way of settling complaints between consumers and traders. The ECC can advise or intervene only when the consumer, who is an EU Member State or Iceland or Norway citizen and purchases goods or services from another EU Member State or Iceland or Norway trader – namely, in EU cross-border shopping of goods and services.
