Invitation Only Research Event
Chatham House | 10 St James's Square | London | SW1Y 4LE
Professor Helen Thompson, Professor of Political Economy, University of Cambridge
Chair: Thomas Raines, Head, Europe Programme, Chatham House
The speaker explores the ways in which the political economy of Britain in the EU created the conditions for the vote to leave, and consider the longer-term implications of this for the UK and the EU.
What role did the 2008 financial crash play in Britain’s vote to leave? How might or should the UK’s growth model change in response to Brexit? What does Brexit tell us about the political economy of the EU?
And how might the EU and particularly the relationship between the eurozone and non-euro countries change after Brexit?
Please note attendance is by invitation-only.
